The Giants, winners of 7 of their last away games, hope to continue their winning ways in Colorado tonight and continue their climb up the NL West. They will face Aaron Cook, 29, of the Rockies, who has started this season with a stellar 8-2 record. On the mound for the Giants is Pat Misch, who was skipped in his last start, thanks to a day off for the Giants. Misch is still looking for the elusive first big league win, and the Giants and fans alike hope that it will come tonight.
Update: Cook's groundball tendency could doom the Giants. The Rockies have 62 GDPs, 2nd in the National League. Look for the Giants to execute a lot of hit and runs.
Well, where to start? I've never actually done this before so cut me some slack if I'm not doing this right. My name is JP. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I guess you can say that's what contributed to my love for Bay Area sports. I can still remember the beautiful Saturday afternoons at Candlestick Park, as well as the bone chilling Thursday nights. I could get into more and more detail, but I'll cut this one short. It is fitting, however, that I introduce with my passion for Giants baseball since it is mid season. For now baseball will be the topic of most of my blogs, as well as mid game reports and tidbits. As time goes on I'll start incorporating my other favorite sports, starting with this year's upcoming NBA Draft. Could get interesting... For now, happy reading!
